The Hawai’i Pacific University softball team could not crack the pitching of Maddy Debs as the Sharks dropped their series opener against Azusa Pacific University, 10-5, Monday afternoon in the first game of a doubleheader at Sand Island State Recreation Area. RECAP.

HPU trailed Biola 11-4 heading into the bottom of the sixth, but scored seven unanswered runs to send this game to extras. The Eagles scored a lone run in the 10th that wouldn't be matched by the Sharks. Biola's Kyle Osterhage earned the win and Ryan Inouye was charged with the loss for HPU.
